Giant Defy Advanced Pro 2

Superior engineering for a super smooth ride, maximize your performance on your longest, hardest road rides.

Engineered for real-world performance, especially on challenging roads and long days in the saddle. The Advanced-grade composite frame features endurance geometry with the perfect blend of light weight, stiffness and road-smoothing compliance. The OverDrive 2 steerer tube and composite fork work together to boost front-end stiffness and precision. Disc brake technology with 12mm front and rear thru-axles gives you total control, even on rough roads and poor conditions. The D-Fuse seatpost smoothes out road vibrations and the PowerCore bottom bracket turns every pedal stroke into positive forward motion.

iCycle review ‘The Advanced Pro range of Defy, Propel and TCR are geared towards higher levels of performance.  This is achieved through the use of stiffer framesets than their standard advanced equivalents.   The 2017 Defy Advanced Pro comes equipped with the bullet proof carbon wheelset designed by Giant not only to be stiff, and light, but also to suffer less from truing issues due to the new even spoke balancing system.   In addition to this, Giant also supplies the Advanced Pro with the SL finishing kit which takes the bike package as a whole to a new lever.  All of these upgrades deliver an amazing ride quality in conjunction with great performance, it is no longer either or, which is the way we like it’.

Giant Propel Advanced Pro 2

For the bell lap of a criterium, or a sprint triathlon. For the attack, the chase and thrill of speed.

Every aspect of this frame is engineered as a complete system to deliver unbeatable aero road performance. Extensive CFD analysis and dynamic wind tunnel testing was used to optimise every frame tube and angle in a process called AeroSystem Shaping technology. The frame is then handcrafted using Advanced-grade composite material to produce a bike that’s both stiff and light, with a sharp responsive ride quality. Purpose built aero road technologies including SpeedControl SL brakes and a Vector seatpost further enhance this well-rounded, wind-slicing performer.

iCycle review – ‘This is a great package, using the stiffness of the Advanced Pro carbon framesets and, the aero shaping technology that Giant have their disposal makes this bike not only quick very surefooted.  We have put the standard Propel Advanced through some real world testing at the hands of one of our club riders and it is flyer.  The addition of the carbon wheelset designed for this bike by Giant makes the Propel Advanced Pro want to eat up the road.  This is a head down and heart rate up kind of ride and we love it’.

Giant Propel Advanced Pro 1

iCycle review: ‘In our opinion, Giant tend not to have a tendency to use colour schemes or paint finishes that make bikes look particularly angry or dangerous but, that is exactly what it seems they have done with the Propel Advanced Pro 2.  The addition of the Ultegra groupset option in the propel range is a given but, you can now use it to hunt down your prey on the road when your laying it down’.

Through superior engineering and composite manufacturing, the proven Advanced-grade composite frame minimises weight without sacrificing its best-inclass stiffness. The Variant seatpost helps smooth out the ride, giving you a well-rounded machine for your road racing ambitions.

iCycle review: ‘We have identified the TCR as being an outright road racing bike due its frame geometry and ride attributes.  Once again the use of the stiffer carbon framesets produced for the Advance Pro range of Giant bikes really does enhance performance of this TCR model.  Giant have retained the pure road characterists of this bike through the frame shaping and the profile of the wheels.  The use of SLR 1 carbon wheels on these bikes which have been profiled to give the feel of a classic road wheel which really works for us.  If you are lover of ‘pure road’ bikes this is definitely the right choice for you’.
